MoneyTrack is made possible by funding from the Investor Protection Trust (IPT) with support from State Securities Regulators. IPT is a not-for-profit organization devoted to investor education. Over half of all Americans are now invested in the securities markets, making investor education and protection vitally important.
The primary mission of the Investor Protection Trust (IPT) is to provide independent, objective information needed by consumers to make informed investment decisions. Founded in 1993 as part of a multi-state settlement to resolve charges of misconduct, IPT serves as an independent source of non-commercial investor education materials. IPT operates programs under its own auspices and uses grants to underwrite important initiatives carried out by other organizations.
Don M. Blandin is president and CEO of IPT. Blandin is a nationally known expert on investor education. He was appointed president and CEO of the IPT in June 2004.
As an expert in the areas of financial education and on private- and public-sector coalition building, Don is frequently asked to speak at conferences, seminars, and other events. He has also been featured in numerous radio and television broadcast segments and publications such as NBC’s Today Show, CNN, Bloomberg Radio, NPR, ABC News, FOX News, USA TODAY, Reader’s Digest, New York Times, Money, Time, Business Week, etc. In addition, Don has testified before Congress for both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives on issues related to financial literacy and education.
